2 barbel on luncheon meat, largest 6lb 7 oz beautiful fish. Lost 4 good fish in the morning in the weed... the river was fast as fished in the rapids above the pool on the last croy reachable...thoroughly enjoyed it except for the persistent rain and wind until about 2.30 pm..

A bright, sunny, tough day with only four fish to report. Tried numerous hookbaits and alternated between feeder and pva bags in the search for bites but they just wouldn't get their heads down. Still, I can't think of a more beautiful place to struggle for a bite than The Wye Valley!

It was hard going as river still dropping after the weekend dropped from 4 metres down to 1. Started on float in a few different spots but it was still too pacy even with meat so hit the feeder earlier than normal as not many canoes around. Took 15 minutes to get the 1st bite which was a lovely Barbel of 6.5 lbs, when connected it just held out in the current and i couldnt move it, incredible power of these fish. I ended up with 5 barbel and 3 chub, one of which was a PB at 5lb, the Wye was very kind to me again, lovely stretch onan amazing river.

A beautiful venue but lots of snags. We had a few knocks but none materialised. The water was very clear and it was a sunny day. Method used was a hair rigged halibut pellet on a running leger.

Fishable but tough conditions with water well up, coloured and flowing fast with a lot of debris. Covered the beat with pellet/feeder tactics with just the one bite in the top swim and one lovely 6lb barbel.

No fishing today, Totally unfishable, wash off, banks underwater totally and no access to swims due to flooding. The nature of the beast which is the Wye. Awesome river
