This is the lowest river levels I have seen on the Wye, low and clear. Overcast mild day. First fish took first cast before the feeder hit bottom! Small barbel and the chub through the day up to approx 3lb, witching hour gave 2 x 6lb Barbel plus 2 good fish lost in the weed. All in a great day put my mate into his first Barbel he had 10 by the end of the day.

River was low, but managed to find a deeper hole at the end of the beat that held a shoal of barbel from 10oz up to 5lb. My brother and father fished in the first two swims nearest the car park. The end swim was the only one that produced on the beat this day. I was catching barbel as soon as the feeder hit the water, I have never experienced as much action from barbel anywhere like this before. Fantastic days fishing for me but my father and brother were less fortunate.

Booked and arrived mid afternoon and started on the float, much easier in between canoes, had two small barbel and all the chub on sweetcorn, good fun and good banter, after the end of the canoes had a couple of hours on the feeder picking up 10 small barbel biggest wouldn't go 3 lb. A pleasant afternoon in slightly less hot conditions.
