Complete washout. Couldn't even get to the water to attempt to fish. Certainly not a beat for higher water levels. And please wye & usk. Change your info. The courtfield Arms no longer exists. Is now ' river wye Lodge. We struggled to find location until we did a few drive byes.

The water was high, fast and coloured. A passing regular Wyebank angler stopped and suggested we request a wash off but after a two hour drive we decided to fish and concentrate on the near bank water with its slower flow. Meat worked. Tried pellets but no takers.

Four chub to fly angler MH, re-visiting coarse fishing after an interval of 45 years. The other (and smallest) chub to TH. A few other fish lost, two possibly barbel but didn’t get a visual. Still, a pretty good day in those conditions.

Expensive for such a short stretch of river. Hard to move along bank as is very steep and slippery and blocked halfway along by branches.

Was here about 2 months ago where the bites came thick and fast from the smaller barbel and bagged up !
A bit different this time round , the river much higher and flowing faster . Bites much slower but the bigger barbel have moved back in !
I’ve recently read bad reviews about this place . It is a very snaggy stretch of river due to the rocky nature of it , but It does produce.
I did lose 3 barbel toady which is always heartbreaking, but there where glorious moments to . Barbel were in mint condition and beautifully bronzed .
Great location , a perfect weekend on the Wye . Superb !

River low and difficult to be sure about where the last pool was. Apparently we found it but we didn't get a touch in it. We lost lots of tackle no matter where we cast into it.
All our fish were caught from the Wharf pool. Our Salmon wasn't a real catch but a dying fish covered in fugal infection that we dispatched and left to the wildlife.

A heavy overnight frost and ice to clean off the windscreen again before we set off putting doubts in my mind as it did last week - even though we had a good day last week after the frost the night before.
Unfortunately It was not to be the same this week - no Barbel showed all day, and it was hard going but we still managed to catch.

CT - 4 Chub - biggest weighed in at 4lb 15oz - this is this biggest Wyebank Chub caught all season!

AW - 2 Chub

lovely day at wyebank. Needed to downsize everything to get the bites and for a while it was a bite a chuck when the shoal of barbel moved in.

Easy to get to when water level is normal by wading along the shingle bank

Lost one feeder to a cut off but nothing to snags I think you need to beef up your main line and feeder length and keep casting to the same spot all day

no weed all in all a lovely day river level was perfect with good clarity

After a heavy frost at 3c last night, and having to clear the windscreen of ice before we set off I thought it was going to be a "tough day" but it turned out to be a good one!

CT - 11 Barbel and 4 Chub ( biggest Barbel weighed in at 5lb 1oz)

AW - 2 Chub

Terrible fishing again, river in a bit better condition, but bites difficult to come by. This was mainly due to getting snagged almost every chuck. I definitely would not recommend Wyebank. Two days fishing with few fish to show for it, and no barbel. I will not be returning.
