Great spot, I took two novices to try to get them their first barbel and succeeded! I lost a good fish and the ones caught were lovely healthy fish around 2lb each. They were unhooked in the water before release as it was a hot day.

Didnt fish only found 2 pegs and 2 guys already fishing, walked or tried to walk entire length of beat the path goes tbrough a large length saying private no fishing
Ironically you could get to the water there.
Certainly isnt the cream of the wye - water maybe but the beat certainly not!
Fortunately only wasted an evening ticket,

Unusually, , all fish (best a 9lb barbel) caught in the middle of the day from the top stretch. High banks treacherous due to steepness and mud - was glad I had my rope and spike with me otherwise an involuntary swim was highly likely

2 Barbel, 3 Chub
