3 of the barbel came at dusk, quite slow all day but came alive as soon as the sun went down. All fish on pellet. Nice stretch of river, fished the faster water in the woods. Biggest barbel was 7lb 11oz.

18.00 to 21.00hrs Top end of Leggs Meadow, banded 16mm Marine Halibut on simple free-sliding light leger with 18 inch hooklength fished about 15 feet out. 15lb main line, 10lb hook-length both ESP, size 8 hook and 2lb test curve rod meant I could lift the barbel off bottom before going into and under weed. I lost no tackle. Catapult fed loose small pellets and cracked marine pellets lightly at 15min intervals. 2 Chub around 3 to 4lb then 4 barbel in 5 to 7lb size and a quickly weighed Barbel of 10lb 9oz just at last light. No activity in last 30mins. Looks like the anticipated September Barbel season has started!

Fished from 5.30pm. All fish caught on 10mm pellets with freebies catapulted in periodically. First barbel of the session lost and then action steadily through the evening. Best fish included ones of 9.2, 9.3, 9.9, 10.2.
One of our favourite beats. Nice to meet Rudy.

Battled for an hour to hook an eel nibbling the spam, then tried pellet. No sign of a fish 8 - 5pm, then four barbel between us 6lb to 9lb 4oz - well worth the wait!

Fished the meadow stretch from 3 until 6, lost a good fish first cast then had nothing else from the swim. Moved to a swim in the woods for an hour at the end of the day had 1 barbel of about 3 pound to save a blank! Both swims fished with pellet and groundbait method.
Thanks WUF

Arrived later than originally planned and found the river moving swiftly considering the lack of serous rain recently. Fished in the meadow swims and had one barbel and one chub not the most exciting afternoons fishing but not helped by the bright sun shine. Fish came to homemade boilies fished with feeder.

*NOTE TO WYE & USK FOUNDATION : On arriving on this section which I have fished a number of times I found a large about of rubbish. It was obviously from other anglers, it was simply a bloody disgrace, empty luncheon meat tins, drinks bottles and wrappers of all sorts. Initially I thought that canoeists were to blame but the nature of the wrappers would indicate other anglers! Also large quantity of monofilament line in one swim. I cleared all rubbish away and took it home but very disappointed. I would suggest a warning is placed on the booking website, if I was an owner I would be very alarmed and I would definitely ban any one found littering this beautiful and fragile environment!
WUF note: Thank you so much for clearing up. I hope the person who left it is suitably shamed. Its hard to believe this still happens

Fished the previous day when the river was rising. This time it was lowering and dropped 1ft. Still some colour though. Fished the same method of pellets and feeder. E and S caught throughout the day at steady intervals. They left at 3.30pm for the drive back to Kent. Less weed coming down. However the barbel fought like tigers in the fast flow. Again one eel caught about 2lbs.
