First time on this beat and last day of our trip. Slow going during the day and a couple of anglers on the other bank meant we took a break for refreshments. On our return we fished a different area and settled in for the evening. After half an hour my friend hooked into a PB barbel, an immaculate fish of 10lb 5oz. A quiet spell followed which coincided with three anglers setting up on the private stretch, just after they left I finished the day with a 8lb 4oz barbel. Nice beat with plenty of swims to go at. Wildlife today - an otter in the dusk on the far bank. And so ends a great week with a total of 64 barbel and we lost count of the number of chub, looking forward to returning soon.

Although for one reason or another I have always struggled on this stretch and this continued to be the case. It remains a place I really enjoy fishing, location and tactics, perhaps. Only managed a couple of Eels!

Nothing to report. Fished 2 swims in the wood section, the pump station swim and the drain cover. Not even a knock all day. Very hard going especially as it was the hottest day so far.

Fished the last 2 pegs in the morning. No barbell, water very, very low with little flow. One angler returned in the evening and managed 2 barbel and 1 chub. Good going under the circumstances. A lovely stretch to fish with easy access but would definitely benefit from a bit of extra water.

Great fishing despite a very low, clear river and a very hot, bright day! Barbel, biggest 9lb 8oz, couple more over 8lb and chub to 5lb 1oz fell to pellet on running lead rigs. Bleak, dace and couple eels on the float rod. Great beat! Back next Tuesday to try again.

Started at first light and had bites straight away but no fish. Rain in morning did nothing to encourage me to stay past 2pm. Will be back later in the year for another go.

River was low and quite clear. Caught on groundbait feeder and various pellets and meat. Canoes/kayaks were a real problem, lost count how many times they caught my line.

River low and clear, lots of weed coming down the river too, bright sunshine, real struggle. Only one of us caught and that was an eel. Very dissapointing day to be honest, two of us didn't even have a bite. The canoes and kayaks were a real problem.
