7 barbel to 7lb and a small chub. Spent to much time looking for the parking at the Severn Trent water complex, it is now Costain (builders). As with all 5 beats we fished, we felt a few signs would help. Nice stretch, will be going back.

Fished in the meadow stretch as we had been advised by Don that the river was still a little high for the woods swims. River fining down and looked almost perfect but fishing was very slow compared with yesterdays results. Finished with 6 barbel and 11 chub topped by a 9lb 13oz barbel at about 7pm. A lovely looking stretch of river in a very tranquil setting. Will certainly return. Thanks again to Don for his help and encouragement.

Fished in meadow due to higher than normal water level preventing fishing in my favourite wooded section. Several barbel to just over 8lb. Pellet, boilie and groundbait feeder tactics.

Well had one of the "those days" on this beat. I arrived to find the river about 5ft above normal. It had peaked on the Saturday about 10 ft above normal. I soon found a swim in the meadow with a good walking pace flow. During the morning caught 13 barbel to 8lbs 11oz plus 3 chub.
Moved swims after getting to this uncomfortable number. Second cast in the new swim produced a barbel. This was followed by 5 more to 9lbs 2oz. The fish certainly fought well in the extra flow. All the fish were caught on pellet. So 19 barbel and 3 chub was indeed a "red letter day". Looking forward to my other sessions I've got booked. Thanks as ever to Don for a beautiful fishery.

River still at 5ft above normal level so fishing the meadow the only option. First swim fished produced 1 barbel around the 3lb mark so moved mid afternoon to a lower swim, this produced 2 Barbel best 9lb 8oz and 1 Chub. All fish taken on halibut pellet. Thanks to Don for his advice.

First ever session on this beat. River was 8 feet up but starting to drop back. Fished peg 4 with 4oz feeder approx three rod lengths out and parallel with downstream tree. Two big (4lb plus) chub were followed by 4 barbel all around the 8lb mark. Popped home for lunch then returned to fish peg 3 which produced a good brace of barbel at 8lb 7 oz and 9lb 4oz. Returning on thursday for further "education". Lovely venue, reasonable parking and Don is just such a helpful chap.

Having fished this beat in the Winter for pike we were hoping that a Summer barbel trip would find the river in better trim with the wet weather gear left at home, we should have known better! Arriving late Saturday morning we found the river up 8ft and pushing through. We had a chat with the other angler booked on and we agreed we were going to struggle, and this is how it turned out as we fished through until late for half a dozen barbel to mid 6lb and a soaking in the evening down pour. Returning Sunday we were pleased to see the river had dropped around 3ft even after the over night rain and felt confident. Speaking to a very helpful angler on arrival only heightened this feeling as he had caught barbel to over 8lb and was happy to advise us on the beat. The fishing was slow to start with but come the end of the day it was hard to leave for home as it really picked up. Considering the conditions for the two days fishing we were happy with catching well over twenty barbel to just over 8lb between us, with K B taking the majority. Big thanks to Don as ever for great assistance.

Fished top of legg meadow b.h had two barbel 1 double and the other 6lb. I.w had 1 barbel 8lb. All fish taken on pellet feeders. Worth noting was told you can fish with 2 rods. Meet the owner don macer wright, very helpful and a pleasure to talk to him. Anglers need to take his advise and step up there mainlines and hook links in such high water conditions. Looking forward to returning in September.
