Used meat as bait. The morning was more active than the evening.
A lovely spot but very steep access which was slippery in the early dew. I would not to fish there in wet conditions, just too dangerous! Could handrail/ ropes be installed or am I just getting old?
The 'other' fish were all eels. Can anyone recommend a good way to unhook them?

1 Barbel, 1 Chub

Getting plenty of action using feeders with Spam as hook bait.
Chub up to 6 lb, barbel up to 10lb. Other fish were eels up to 3 lb.

5 Barbel, 6 Chub, 4 Other

River in good condition, plenty of coloured water, dropping. Hot sunny conditions not ideal and unsurprisingly fish came early morning and late afternoon/evening. Pellet feeder. Barbel to 9lb8oz, small chub and a couple of eels.

7 Barbel, 1 Chub, 2 Other

Managed a couple of hours early morning in the pouring rain. River in good order, banks very slippery. At least I got the season off to a productive if wet start.

Evening tickets, river was in good condition. Chub and barbel spread out. Catching in groups then quiet spells.

8 Barbel, 10 Chub

Started at 7am, but despite missing an early take, no other fish until around 9am when the sun started to shine through the clouds. Throughout the morning I had a couple of barbel (up to 6lb) and a couple of chub (3 - 4lb). It went quiet between 12 and 13:30ish, then rolling barbel and chub signalled the return of a feeding spell. I went on to have a further 3 Chub (lost one) and two barbel to 7lb 12oz. We had to leave at 15:00, otherwise I am sure I would have had more. All fish fell to feeder pellet and boilie tactics

Looked perfect conditions just fining down with a bit of colour but barbel where not on the feed.

The other fish were dace and eels.
