Two decent Barbel, 7lb 5ozs and 8lb 1oz on pellets in Legg Meadow. Water level too high to try the wood section.

4 of the barbel caught on this beat were around the 1.5lb mark which really does bode well for the future! Fished a number of swims and despite unintentionally dipping a leg in the river on one of the wooded swims, we had an enjoyable day. Most fish came from the upper stretches of this beat, usual pellet and feeder tactics. Biggest barbel matched our biggest fish the previous day on another beat.......8lb 8oz. Perfect end to our 3 day trip to the River Wye.

10 Barbel, 1 Chub

Fished all morning for 2 barbel and then nothing for 4 hours. Finally moved to another swim and found some barbel feeding. Quickly picking up 4 fish before the day drew to a close. One very nice chub of 4lbs 14oz too.

6 Barbel, 2 Chub

Difficult day however a couple of barbel. Even the 6 people on the other bank blanked. Unsure why they are not feeding.

Very slow day today despite perfect conditions. Starting at 08:00 I had to wait until 18:00 for my first and only bite resulting in a Barbel of 5lb 10oz using pellets.

Fished for 4 hours in the morning and had 3 Barbel to 6lb 8oz

3 Barbel

Fished the Legg Meadow section and really struggled. I'm not an experienced river angler and struggled a bit with managing the flow and the amount of debris coming down.
Managed a baby Barbel around 10am, but the sun came out and while another angler seemed to catch steadily I couldn't find the fish. Had a small Chub just on dusk but that was my lot.
Lovely surroundings and I'll be back with a score to settle soon enough.

River dropping 1.4m on the Lydbrook guage, we caught 18 Barbel to 10lb 2oz & 4 Chub to 4lb 8oz

Steady river with nice colour, about 2 feet above low summer level. Had to search for fish, mainly in top section
