Due to conditions it was understandably slow until the last hour and a half when Stu had a 6.00 barbel followed by a 10.01 pb and I had a 9.01 just before packing up.
Good to meet up with Don on the bank who was as helpful as always.

River very low and clear and night temperatures near below 5c meant that we expected to struggle and we did. Only fish landed was an average chub but one barbel lost demonstrated that they could be tempted, so we will return tomorrow for another try. Lack of fish action didn't detract from our enjoyment of this lovely stretch though.

Another cold start, started fishing at around 7am in the legg meadow end but failed to get any action on this bright and sunny day until 6:45PM, when I had a barbel of 10lb 2oz. Quickly followed by a chub of around 3lb, then quiet for the remainder of the session. Tried rolling baits during the day but to no avail. I saw maybe as many as 12 salmon jumping throughout the day.

Good days fishing in difficult conditions. River low and clear. Most fish came late in the day. No large barbel all about 6lbs.

Very cold start and the water level a lot lower than last week. I fished a couple of swims along legg meadow. After a quiet day, I eventually managed to get a 7lb 7oz Barbel at around 5:30PM and then another of 10lb 1oz (wye pb) at 6:30PM, both caught on tuna boilies and Halibut pellets

Fished on the bottom with different baits, tried halibut pellets, sweetcorn, luncheon meat. Caught nothing. It was a bright clear day, river was low. Enjoyed the scenery.I will come back when it gets warmer. The only thing I didn't like was going on the website finding it cost £20 a day, which was fine. Only to find a £2.50 booking fee!. I would rather them say it cost £22.50 at the start.
(WUF note: the booking fee covers any number of bookings if made on the same day, and also covers the cost of credit cards and staff)

Fished downstream of the iron steps. The river was low and clear. Lost two barbel on the rocks plus plenty of tackle. Mainly small chub with two decent fish amongst them, all caught on maggot feeder.

Just 1 barbel between 6 anglers. Difficult beat few swims and in need of some TLC I would not recommend this to anyone.

River was very low and clear tried various different swims to no avail. Managed to catch a low double figure pike on a large deadbait. The barbel were scarce throughout the stretch with only one small fish landed between the six anglers. Beautiful place sometimes the "catching" doesn't matter does it !

Fishing was very difficult this time with 3 of the other 4 anglers blanked but we were fortunate to catch a couple. My Father had one chub but it was a good chub at 5lb 4oz and I had 4 chub to 4lb 2oz and a 5lb Barbel all caught using pellet feeder and pellet hook bait River was Low and Clearish just a hint of colour but not enough to get the barbel to feed
