Hot sunny day. Not much surface activity until 1700. Blanked until 1715 hrs but was rewarded with a 14inch fish feeding in the shallows under the trees, about 3ft from the bank. Unfortunately I had to leave at 1800 so probably missed the best of the day.

A wonderful day on Chainbridge, no salmon caught or felt but I saw at least 2 jumping and 1 other that may have been a large trout. One was under the bridge with the bigger one at the bottom of rock pool.
Lots of olives hatching throughout the day with the trout feeding pretty constantly, luckily I had my 5wt ????. I had around 10 trout, none under 1lb with the majority 1.5lb plus. The last fish of the day was a beaut around 3.5lbs! Whilst trout fishing I also had a lively little salmon parr out of the faster water. Super fun!

Very little water still. Overnight rain had not shifted it. I kept waiting for a rise, but by 6.30pm nothing to speak of. Maybe if I'd stayed a couple of hours more? Caught one tiddler.

Good hatch and evening rise after about 8pm, with fussy fish sometimes taking a small emerger (16) and later a medium dun (14). Five fish up to 15 inches - generally seemed rather smaller than upstream. Some murk in the water now - algal bloom?
