Almost a wash-off. At first I thought it was perfect and that the water would fall during the day, but as the afternoon went by it didn't and it seemed to get a lot muddier too. Wading hard work, but I kept hoping.

Did not fish Saturday or Sunday due to extreme access to the River to dangerous for a 80 & 60 year olds.

Fishing Passport Note : Access on the rivers during this spell of very low water can be more of a challenge than usual. We are always happy to advise on fisheries that are suitable for all abilities.

One on a nymph and a beautiful young cock fish of about a pound and a bit on a dry. Large hatch of March Browns turned them on for about 45 mins at midday. Numerous takes but only one stuck. The afternoon was very quiet. Packed it in at 18:15 after falling into the drink and realising there would only be hyperthermia and misery in my future.

Only able to visit for a couple of hours. Bright and cold wind and very little rising despite quite a bit of insect activity. No success but a nice stretch.
