23rd and 24th May 2013, 2 rods. We fished 4/5 hrs both days, morning, afternoon and evening. Marginal weather, very windy and bright sunshine followed by heavy showers on both days. River level normal but a little coloured. Despite the perfect setting we caught no fish, we saw only 3 fish jump over the two days and no rises were seen. Otter tracks over the whole length of the beat gave us our excuses. We saw no fry in the margins except for one fish about 1 inch long. Methods used, up stream and down stream nymph fishing with various gold head and hares ear nymphs on the point with a wet black gnat on the dropper.

Beautiful beat and glorious weather for sunbathing. River already getting a bit low so combined with sunshine made for difficult going. No fish seen or contacted apart from zillions of fry.

No fishing. 2 feet of snow. Nowhere to park because of snow. River high but considering amount of snow and rain remarkably clear. Will be back in 2 weeks to try again.

Water conditions still quite coloured so no visible surface activity. Tried upstream and across small wtd.nymphs and selection of spider patterns to no avail so this is a nil return. Nevertheless this is a lovely section of river with some attractive pools and glides. Access though from the lower car park more like an assault course. No identifiable gate, style or pathway, thistles 7ft high, fallen trees and concealed wire fences. Exit from river proved even more difficult. Quite understand that we cannot expect manicured access and river banks especially since agriculture is suffering from depressed and volatile returns. Thought however that you would like to receive my genuine impressions of the venue.

No fish caught or seen all day. An abundance of fly life, Olives hatching all day, water a little coloured but clearing. Conditions not too difficult, sunshine a gentle breeze, the odd shower. Expected to see some fish activity.
