First visit, and not disappointed. Hard work but a pleasant setting.

The river is quite low and very clear but still fishable. The fish are quite sparse this year. Areas where I would have seen fish in previous years are now barron. Plenty of fly hatches though and lots of fry in the margins . I saw 7 fish and got takes off 6, landed 2. Not my best ratio! Lol

The river was in perfect condition and there was a lot of fly on the water. Saw a few fish rising later in the day, and managed to land three lovely brown trout.

I caught 2 on a dry, 1 about half a pound and one a bit bigger. Fair trickle of various fly coming off during the day, very occasional rising fish. Very challenging but beautiful section of river!

I caught 2 trout on dry fly, one about half a pound one a bit bigger. Regular trickles of various fly hatching out during the day with very occasional rising fish seen. Very challenging but beautiful stretch of river!

Arrived at midday and fished until 6.00pm - the river condition and setting were wonderful with a good hatch of mayfly but sadly almost no fish rising anywhere on the river.
Managed a small brown on dry but nothing on nymphs - still had a great day.

Did not fish. When I looked on Google Earth the image from June last year showed that it was completely dried up, and with the previous reports not being good cut my losses and went elsewhere.

Overcast morning, brightening during the afternoon. Lots of insect life on and near river. Unfortunately I didn't see a single rising trout between 8am and 3pm. Looked online at recent catch returns and seems others have found similar. Used a variety of dry flies and even tried a few out of season designs and wet flies. A beautiful location, however, and will definitely return. Only minor difficulty was access; a tricky approach from 'upper' parking location, but once by river fishing was easy in terms of room to manouver.
