This was by far the best beat I fished during my trip, yet again another stunning backdrop downstream, not far from car park with good access to the bank and many options to fish. I was catching as soon as I cast in and the action was spread out all day till my last cast, the first half of the session was dominated by chub all of a specimen size, biggest was 5lb. By the afternoon the barbel moved in and the sport got even better. I lost 4 barbel and 1 chub in the bedrock so be careful! All the fish I hooked were a good size the smallest was 6lb, was very happy to net 8 fish. This is a great venue I can't wait to return.

First time at this stretch. Water quiet high and coloured. The flow was pushing hard. Cloudy weather. Not a great start of the season for me but it was a privilege to be there. A very enjoyable day fishing on a peaceful part of the Wye.

Fished with pellets in the slower, deeper, nearside swims in the middle of the stretch. River was brown and tanking through, with large tree debris coming down the beat. Caught 4 barbel and 3 chub, of no great size, but pleased with the action given the conditions.

River fining off and fished the last day of the season in bright conditions. Just one jack between the two of us, on a popped up dead, but a pleasant day to see the season out on a first visit, on spec, to this beat.

The river had dropped further overnight and looked really inviting, had a chub first cast and a grayling a bit later and that was it. The weather was so nice and the beat so peaceful we got a bit lazy and didn't move around, enjoyed the day though.

Two days fishing on this stretch. River very high and chocolate brown on the first day. Dropped at least 3 feet overnight and less colour. Also overnight frost, so conditions very much against us. We managed to land six barbel up to 8lb 9oz and lost three more. Also landed a couple of Chub. Lovely stretch previously fished this stretch in September totally different conditions.

A tough day with bites hard to come by on feeder/leger tactics. We both caught plenty of small fish on trotting maggots, and MS caught a 4.5lb Chub and a lovely 3lb Brownie. We both worked hard with different baits and tactics, but we put our lack of success mainly down to low water levels. The Wye beautiful as ever. Just a note: the farmer has fenced off the field alongside the long row of trees and put cattle in. This means 4WD access is no longer possible down to the riverbank. Parking is available just through the gate, but a 150 yard walk required.
