River low and clear. Fished all day with pellet, both rods blanked. Busy with anglers on opposite bank, loud chatting.
Disappointing day but beautiful surroundings.

Hot day, arrived around 1pm to find a very, very overgrown beat, walked the whole length looking for a place where 2 of us could fish together as my partner is not very experienced. Sadly there weren't any. Most pegs that were accessible could take one angler with a bit of kit. I am not averse to jungle fishing but on this day really couldn't be bothered getting the machete out. River was low and almost stagnant at the bottom end.
The people we observed fishing on the other bank were happily casting to within a few meters of the WUF bank, not the first time I've seen this here.

River level dropping, caught 1 Barbel 4.5lbs at 6.20am. Thought I was in for a great day, however nothing else all day. On a sour note there was an idiot on opposite bank who drove to his swim, had no landing net, no changing mat & insisted on casting to same snaggy swim even though he had to pull for a break 3 seperate times leaving line in the river. I fished again 2 days later & same angler was back so he can't have been poaching. Does the WUF know who controls the opposite bank they may need some advice? It would be shame for them to ruin a lovely beat.

Tricky conditions to start with - lots of weed coming down made fishing difficult. It was my first time on this beat so was fishing somewhat blind. I later found some barbel and caught well catching 8 barbel between 3 and 8 lbs - all on pellet. Fished between 3pm and 8pm.

Fished from 8am to 9pm. River was carrying about 6inchs of water but not a lot of colour. We were both feeder fishing and it was hard going during day; after rain in afternoon river rose about 8inches and had a bit of colour, after which the barbel switched on and the bites started to come ending with me having 5 barbel around the 8lb mark and 1 x 3lb chub. My mate had 1 small chub and a large eel. Many thanks to the Foundation and hope to be on the Wye again soon.

A new stretch to us so despite the river being low and fish not really biting all weekend we fished for a few hours. It looks a nice stretch. We fished the 2 swims at the bottom of the tree line from where our vehicle was parked. River too low to fish most of the other swims. Nothing caught unfortunately.

Day 1 of 4 on WUF stretches. River was still very low. Fished a number of swims between 7am - 12pm, but only managed 1 eel. Returned to fish the evening with better results. 5 Barbel all around the 5lb mark.
Some well cut out pegs, but much of the stretch (including what looks like the best part) is inaccessible. If we return it will be with shears, rope and a large stake!

Although a good day was had by all including a 3lb eel and P.B. barbel for a fellow angler. The lack of prepared pegs was a concern. Also fishermen from the other bank sat in the middle of the river fishing the side we booked was also a concern.

Our first visit to the Wye and we will return. A good day was had by all. The weather played a part in what was a difficult day. Great for sun bathing BUT not for fishing!
I would say the pegs need a little more love and attention to allow greater access to all of them. Also fishermen from the other bank were an issue casting across to "our" side.
