Our visit coincided with the first major influx of water for a while which brought the level up my over 1.3m. This in itself was not a problem but the amount of weed and debris coming down was. It made fishing very difficult but we persevered and by fishing just of the rod tip managed a number of nice barbel from the obvious swims.

Plenty of variety on this beat - from stepped and comfortable swims to overgrown and not so comfortable swims. Chub spotted but not fished for at the top end. We caught barbel from the middle section and even had the pleasure of hand feeding them just inches from the bank. I would think the lower swims could fish well in a flood, but in those conditions I wouldn't want to hook one of the huge carp spotted on this day!
