Where have all the Barbel gone? A falling clear river didn't help!

1 chub from bottom half of beat the rest were from near car park. Fish fought really well and went back strongly. Caught using open ended feeder using meat and pellets.
At the bottom of the beat five fence posts up from entrance there is a large clump of Japanese Knotweed on the bank that needs dealing with before it becomes out of hand!

River in nice looking condition.
The fields were dry and we were able to drive down to the river, which was a real bonus. We have fished this beat several years running and would not recommend driving to the river in dry conditions we nearly got stuck last year after a bit of drizzle.
Roving between swims seamed the best approach

River levels fairly high so we had to fish in the big slack at the downstream end,had a couple of early fish before things went quiet in the afternoon sun, things livened up with plenty of bites later in the afternoon, some really nice fish today with the biggest ones going 10 lbs 11oz and 10 lbs 5 oz,along with a couple of eight and nine pounders most fish falling to swimfeeder and pellet hookbaits, looking forward to returning to this beat

Fished until late morning.
Wind got too severe out in the open and too risky under the trees in 50mph winds.
Very dissappointed but cant predict the weather.
3 chub caught before calling it a day.
