We had a lovely day fishing on what is probably our favourite beat on the Wye. Biggest barbel was 8Ib 12oz.

Water level very low, but you can see where the shallows and the deep water are - we concentrated on the deeper water because we couldn’t see any fish activity in the shallows. Barbel came before 12:00 and after 5:00 pm . Great day.

River in good condition, unfortunately very bright and sunny day not ideal. All barbel caught on meat, chub caught mainly on pellet, other 2 fish was a dace and a large perch over 2lb caught on meat. A very large pike was lost after it grabbed a chub on the way in estimated at over 20lb.

The river was in better condition than it has been for a while but we still had a tough day, a couple of nice Barbel and a few decent Chub landed but two Barbel lost to hook pulls also.

Conditions good but fishing slow for us today. River falling. The only barbel at ten to nine weighed 8.9. A number of chub from numerous swims followed up to 4.12. Other was an eel.
Most fish to GB feeder and meat. Frustratingly two barbel lost in the evening whilst playing.
