Steep path down to the river and swims are steep to get to especially when wet. Travelling light is key here as they stated. 1 of us had 4 chub and the other only 1 chub, hard day's fishing but a very picturesque spot watching the wildlife. Water level is very low currently and a good reach down from the swims with a net. Not many features in the water.

River still low and weed an issue. Needs good flush through, some decent rain on the hills for a sustained period. Fished from 07:30am to 18:30pm. 4 good sized barbel on 2oz feeder in creases. Heavy showers and overcast, good conditions. Fish were plump and coloured for autumn and more energetic than on previous visits in Summer.

Fishing was very slow. Seems to deteriorate each year.
Lots of silkweed coming down the river and catching on the line. In over 20 years of fishing the Wye I have never seen silkweed like that. Can only put it down to the dry summer combined with pollution.
The Wye is a shadow of what it used to be.

Very slippery, dangerous banks
Fishing Passport Note : I’m afraid that difficult access is increased when the banks are wet.
