This was a return to a much favoured beat - conditions looked amazing - extra coloured water (about 1 foot up) and good flow, mix of cloud and sunshine... however it never really got going. All anglers would manage the odd bite without ever really getting anything consistent. This led to everyone moving about a bit and some swims gave another odd bite but some didn't. Strangely the more the day drew on, the less they seemed to bit. Lovely day out though and the swims and access are all excellent. Will definitely return

Nice sunny day which gave the gear a chance to dry off after the previous days deluge.
River had come up a couple of inches overnight and held good colour so another good return.

River higher than recent times due to recent rain. Most swims up river of carpark difficult to access/fish. We caught 2 barbel and 6 chub (using meat and pellet on the hook). One barbel was <1lb, the other just under 7lb. All chub between 3.5-5.5lb. Not a bad first trip to the Wye!
