Evening session, ideal conditions, all fish took from a wading position mid river to large pellets, the covering of what looks like blanket weed across the riverbed is not something I've seen before and doesn't bode well, it is everywhere.
Get involved before we lose this exceptional river and its wildlife.

Fished 2 swims around the lucky stone and caught steadily all day. Most caught on feeder apart from 1 barbel and about 5 chub on the float. Hooked a salmon on luncheon meat which proceeded to strip about 70 yards of line off as it went off like a jet ski downstream before the hook pulled. Lost about 20 feeders in snags but that's the price for this magical swim.

Other was an eel. Usual number of canoes, now added to by paddleboarders, but died down after 16.00. The evening however brought large groups of paddleboarders and swimmers out making a lot of noise. A consequence of lockdown?

We fished an eve session started at 5 till 10, caught 8 barbel in 2 hour feeding spell then 1 at the end, great sport.
Surprisingly I only had 1 small barbel the rest between 5lb & 8lb had 1 10lb on the nose.
