Unfortunately for us the river had come up very quickly over night and the bottom end was unfishable. The fish seemed to come in short bursts throughout the afternoon but the late evening feeding spell never materialise.

Only day of the trip the river was low enough to float fish. Nick had loads of small chublets off the top croy . I found the big chub lower down on the float great fun at the time. Neil however fished the feeder in the first meadow.

Fished Courtfield Wood section, Very quiet, one small chub and a eel of around 1 1/2 lb both caught on luncheon meat, Not many canoeist about but quite a lot of bottom weed making bait presentation difficult.
