Fished 1pm to 9pm. Lovely beat with lots of varied water and conditions. River looking very good - level and clarity. Middle of the session was ruined a bit by someone doing some work up river and loads of flotsam floating downstream. Wiped me out for a couple of hours sadly.
All fish were caught ledgering with pellet or meat.
hope to return...

Perfect weather conditions cloudy and not too hot, we fished with cage feeders and fishmeal pellets hair rigged or banded, either method worked just as well. Biggest barbel around 7lb and biggest club around 3lb.
The knotted ropes which have been installed to aid getting up and down the banks were a godsend for two ageing anglers

Well what can I say it’s great to be back on a WUF beat again, this truly is a beautiful stretch. After what has been a real hard start to the season it’s nice to get a decent bend in the rod! Only had one shot at the Wye since June 16th and as most anglers will know, there’s been a lot of blanket weed drifting down making it extremely frustrating!

Only fished 5 hours in the middle of the day missing out on the crucial times to be fishing but very happy with the results. Very snaggy in places but no fish lost, the barbel were quite small by the Wye’s standards but I was not complaining, the chub was a klonker! Shame I only fished a fraction of the day, I know for sure there would’ve been more fish on the bank if I’d had more time. Usual feeder tactics. It’s so good to be back! Enjoy the rest of the season everyone!

Arrived at 5pm for an evening session. Slightly overcast and breezy but warm. Fished the upper end of the beat alternating between feeder with pellet and touch ledgering with meat. Eels and chub on the meat but no sign of barbel. Moved swim for last hour and had a take on the first cast from a barbel 8-9lb followed by a good chub.
Still lots of weed drifting downriver.

First time fishing on the Wye, unfortunately didn’t catch a Barbel but managed to get 3 reasonably sized Chub 3-5lbs which saved the blank. Used ground bait and 4mm pellets in feeder with luncheon/pepperami on the hair. Lovely surroundings and very quiet. Look forward to returning.

Another nice peaceful day on the Wye, with stunning scenery. Fishing was slow through the day but picked up during the evening . Will return to this beat again ...

River looking good and a bit less weed coming down today. Mostly cloudy, so I started in a spirit of optimism. Small chub from the off, whatever the bait and twice as many must have fallen off as I landed. Once again no sign of the barbel. I think I may revert to my former habit of not trying to catch them in the first couple of weeks of the season. But then it's good to be on the Wye even if the fish are elusive.
