Second day on the same venue, pretty much a repeat of yesterday’s report. Many thanks for Dave’s help with our trip.

Weed problematic but not as much of a hindrance as the previous day. Four Barbel caught between mid morning and late afternoon. Chub once again happy to feed throughout the day. All caught on feeder/pellets.

The evening may have produced but we had to leave early for the long slog home.

Weather windy partial sun/ cloud temp 22 deg. Fishing close to the bank towards a few swims up from lower end Perrystone Estate. River level mid to high with snagging weed sometimes an issue. Caught fish close (3m) from bank on leisured hair rig baited with soft boilie and swimfeeder using ground casters and halibut ground mix. Fish size 4/5 lbs. Looking forward to a return visit.

River looked perfect when we arrived early morning but within minutes of casting out we had to reel in feeders & hook bait were covered in blanket weed coming down river made it totally impossible to fish Will definitely not be returning until a good flood of rain washes river through

Fantastic day which made all the driving worthwhile. River at 0.9m on Mordiford gauge, falling slightly during the day. Very slippy underfoot conditions which resulted in a couple of cartoon like falls in the woods and a broken reel handle (luckily spare reel in bag). Fished the Lucky Stone for most of the day and took all fish from there except for one barbel at the tail end of the day in the top field. The swim was as snaggy as ever and the fish count could have been 50% higher. But overall a red letter day.
