There are very few fishable pegs on the upper stretch - steep banks, overgrown and no access to the water

Fished from 9am till 8pm , today was an absolute scorcher! We took refuge in the shade for most of the day , didn’t fish as hard as we could but netted a few throughout the day .
This beat always provides a good days fishing ,

Arrived to find the river still showing a tinge of colour but the warm bright conditions proved difficult. BP managed to winkle out a pristine Chub of approx. 2 ½ lb but despite best efforts with various pellets, meat and corn, this was to be the only success of the day. Overall, a tough day when the river reminded us who is boss. Still a great day to be on the bank. Numerous large Salmon jumping clear of the water throughout the day, with hundreds of Damselflies keeping us company. Surprisingly few canoes, most of whom were courteous and polite.

A very hot day, a lot of canoes, 85% were. as usual fine, the other 15 shouldn't be left in charge of a shopping trolley, nevermind a craft on moving water!! I fished opposite the pumping station using pellet or bolies on the hook, barbel were up to 9 pounds the chub were all good sizes, one of the eels was the biggest I've had for a long time.

One of the hottest days of the year at 32degrees but what an absolute pleasure fishing this fantastic river on such a beautiful stretch, caught steadily all day despite the temperature. River was in perfect condition. Caught on feeder tactics with bollie, pellet and luncheon meat all taking fish. Chub up to 5lb and barbel 8lb. Will def be back soon. Canoe traffic was high, but this was to be expected.

A really well-maintained beat - pegs are accessible without spoiling the feeling of wilderness.
Good fishing - mainly in the upper field in the deeper nearside gulley. Definitely, need a long-handled net !!

Five barbel and one eel fishing the feeder down the near side crease unable to fish far side due to amount of canoes many of which were drunk and all over the river shouting screaming swearing and jumping in with no respect for other river users.

Ledger fished pellet over a bed of groundbait produced 2 barbel of 7lb 2oz and 6lb in difficult conditions. Blazing sunshine and boat traffic made it far from ideal but lovely stretch, easy parking close to the waters edge.
