River in perfect condition, slightly coloured with plenty of water. Busy day's sport with barbel up to 9.3 lbs and chub to 5.5 lbs, Several more fish lost in the tree routes . Three eels also caught. Most fish were caught on ledgered meat. Even though they are now a protected species eels are still a slimy nuisance. The combination of water level and overnight rain made the swims few and very difficult to fish, but very nice productive beat. The canoes did not effect the fishing and it was noticeable that once they became aware of us the majority of them turned towards the far bank.

Fished just below the Lucky Stone and had loads of Chub and a few Barbel, was just getting into it when 4 blokes turned up on the opposite bank and decided to fish directly opposite me in a line about 5 yrds apart. Once the beers were opened and the swearing started, I had to move. I moved downstream and continued to have a good day, thanks to the headphones and radio I had with me.

Fished a variety of swims in the upper part of the beat all fish falling throughout the days fishing with no breaks in the bites. River was spot on coloured up, a bit of pace and up in height.

Fished a ledgered boilie hookbait and pellet feeder. Barbel were from 2lb - 8lb and the chub all in the 1lb - 3lb range. Great fun on my favourite beat and despite scaling the gear down it still made me sweat on the walk to and from the car.

Great to see two small barbel in the 2lb range caught.

We fished from 7am until 3pm and the Barbel came steadily with pellet and feeder tactics. River was coloured and in excellent condition. Some Barbel still had some spawn. Biggest was 8LB 4oz with the smallest being 5LB. We only fished the 5 swims in the main field below the orchard. Would return here as it is an excellent fishery.

5 Barbel, 4 Chub
