The river was up an estimated four feet and pushing through. We fished mainly pellet and had one Barbel and seven Chub. It was a great day and we love this beat. The scenery is superb and it is a privilege to fish this beat on opening day (two years running). The owner came down to say hello and for once we did not see a single canoe! Can't wait to get back. Thank you Wye and Usk.

Difficult conditions due to high temperatures and clear skies. 1 double figure carp landed. Another ejected the hook.

Plenty of fish milling around the far end of the lake. As well as along the island through the middle of the lake.

Fantastic day on the bank, but the fishing was hard. The river was rising fast and was racing through. Managed to eek out two beautiful 5lb chub on meat. Thank you W&UF.

Another difficult day with the river over 4 metres high and rising. The river was only 18 inches below the very top of the bank. Only one real swim to fish at the very end of the stretch on the road side. The opposite bank was too exposed to the elements of storm Gareth with extremely high winds. Only fished for around 1.5 hours due to fast rising river.
Only one chub between us of around 2lbs caught on flavour soaked boile.
