Have never seen the Wye so low, in drastic need of rain. If it weren't for this being a long booked multi day trip probably wouldn't have made the trip.

Made it a late start from mid afternoon. Interesting to be able to see the river bottom and what it's like. Few chub and barbel spotted which keen to take loose offerings but would dissappear when a bait went in.

Everything happened in the last hour, with each angler catching a chub and 2 barbel. Also managed a wiggly eel...

River very low and more 'chub village' than 'chub city' but the average size and overall condition of the fish notably better than on previous visits. Most of the fish arrived in a 60 minute session in the late afternoon and following a switch from pellet to meat. Best chub easily topped 5 lbs with the majority of fish around the 4 lb mark. The 'other' was an eel which very helpfully de-hooked itself by tying itself into a figure 8 on landing. As per my previous posting, if I hadn't pre-booked this session a long time ago I'm not sure I would have chosen to be fishing the Wye while the river is so clearly short of water.

River very low, slow going in the afternoon with 1 chub and an eel. Last 3 hours a bite a cast. Chub 2-5lb , Barbel 3-6lb. Fished feeder with pellet and hemp. Pellet, meat and cheese paste successful.

Very low, but managed to find two swims at the end of the beat. Impossible to float fish, but had good success on the feeder - despite the number of people swimming in the swim!
