Tough day due to very high, fast water. Forced to fish under the rod tip which did still produce eventually but super hard going. Big smelly paste covered baits eventually worked.

Fished by the downstream car park but struggled due to large numbers of canoes( at least 200) I wish I could report that they were considerate but many were ignorant and caused endless problems. Also had a number of swimmers go through!!! Had 1 barbel here before moving to the swims half way down the venue where we had 5 barbel in the last hour between 6-8lbs. Nice venue but a little work to open up swims would make it even better.

Beat instructions good as usual, we were also very happy with the new arrangements on this beat where a vehicle can be taken down to the middle point of the beat making the previously arduous walk (or extra cash bunged to the owner for a lift).
Whilst the beat looked incredibly inviting, water opposite the weir garden in particular looking like one big barbel swim - it just didn't happen today. The day was very bright indeed with an overnight frost giving way to a beautiful sunny day. But that, coupled with the river dropping and clearing seemed to put the bigger fish off. One 4lb chub was landed (a bit of an old warrior)... but the other three anglers fishing failed to must a bite between them, despite trying in numerous swims. A little bit of trotting was done, and the dace were suicidal.
All of that said, we would definitely revisit this beat. I'm sure with more agreeable fishing conditions it could go really well.

A really tough fishing day was put down to a frosty start to the morning and bright sunshine all day. The 2 small chub came at dusk. Given the stunning scenery and beautiful sunshine, we didn't mind the tough days fishing.

After a very misty start and river running low and clear we managed a chub and barbel from a swim just after the gate in the second field, the river was still dropping so we decided to move to the swim by the wooden steps where we caught chub and 2 barbel. All of these were to pellet and feeder, heaviest chub was 2/15, barbel 6\5. All together was pleased due to falling flow.

A bright, sunny, tough day with only four fish to report. Tried numerous hookbaits and alternated between feeder and pva bags in the search for bites but they just wouldn't get their heads down. Still, I can't think of a more beautiful place to struggle for a bite than The Wye Valley!
