We caught 3 barbel , best being 9.5 lb and a very nice Chub 6.10 lb . Then unfortunately the river rose 6-7 ft over the next few hours , by mid afternoon we could no longer fish due to all the tree's and debris coming down the river.
Oh also 1 mad man swimming down with the current , unbelievable .
There really was not enough swims for 6 anglers and like previous comments feel the owners should cut some more to make the access better .

Wet... very very wet. Conditions were simply awful. River was rising and moving very fast. The banks are quite steep and were very slippery.
Called it a day after a couple hours and visited the cider farm.
No doubt this is a great beat.. not today!

First time I have fished here. Due to the the heavy winds we had to clear a load of fallen branches to gain access to the beat. We had to fish the gravel beach as the weather was terrible and we needed somewhere to pitch a brolly, so we never got the chance to check out the rest of the fishery. Had 3 barbel up to 8.10 . Due to the rubbish weather we left by 1.30

To say it rained is putting it lightly, drenched from the first minute and stayed that way all day! But on a rising river the fish still wanted to feed, 3 barbel to 10lb 3oz on pellet wrapped in paste and 2 chub to 3lb 8oz whilst rolling meat. Fish came from the wild crib and the boat pool. Difficult conditions and stacks of weed but by no means unfishable.

The river had risen a foot overnight following yesterday’s storm and heavy rain. A lot of weed and debris coming down. Fished close in to the bank in horrendous wet and windy conditions and caught a couple of lovely barbel and also missed two good bites.
CAUTION : We initially parked inside the gate on the right of the road by the line of trees half way down the stretch. A bad mistake as the car quickly got bogged down in the mud and we were lucky to get the car out again. Best not to park here when the ground is wet!

Terrible conditions to fish in, heavy rain and strong winds. River was up a foot or so and piles of rubbish coming down. We managed to share a swim and fished close in to the bank. Caught two barbel and missed a couple of good bites somehow.
