Nice day with very little boat traffic. Usual method of pellet feeder did the trick. Got chased out of one swim by a decent pike that attacked the small fish shoal each time the feeder landed. Spectacular! One barbel just topped the magic 10.

A late afternoon session after rain in the morning resulted in one Barbel of six and a half pounds coming to the net. Missed a couple of knocks, suspect Chub were being a bit coy. Quite a few fish showing on the surface. The river is still low and will benefit from some rain in the coming weeks. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Well, after a tough first day at Kerne Bridge, Middle Hill Court certainly gave us a taste of what the Wye is famous for.
Fishing with a friend this time, the morning was again slow, with just a Chub and a dropped Barbel, but things really picked up in the afternoon, with a purple patch of a couple of hours with a bite or fish pretty much every cast.
Again, bag and pellet most successful.
I really like the natural feel of both the beats I fished, but agree with previous posters that the swims could do with a bit of maintenance. Many Thanks to WUF and we'll certainly be back!
