fished pegs by the steps, started at 3pm with intention of fishing until dark. Better conditions with it cooler and plenty of cloud cover. Caught sporadically through the afternoon but expected sport to improve later - it became slower the later it got. Caught on 8mm pellets on feeder

All fish taken trotting the faster water on sweet corn. Barbel from 1lb to 8lb 2oz and all in pristine condition. A few small chub and dace early on.
Sadly no access for wading as described in the venue details on the website.

Very tough day fishing upstream of the old viaduct, river was very low with large amounts of weed growth. Fished pellet feeder for 1 x barbel and 5 x chub. Next time we will pack the float rods!

Painfully low levels and bright conditions made fishing incredibly difficult. Two of us fishing with only 1 barbel about 6lb and an eel caught by my mate, and a lonesome chub caught by myself.
Barbel seem to be in one small area of the river.
A lovely stretch of river though.

Excellent day considering the conditions. All fish fell to pellet feeder and at surprisingly regular intervals throughout the day but the Barbel really came on the feed during evening time.
