Having fished 2 days I believe this beat should be closed until water levels rise. Canoes are a problem they get stuck . Lack of water. If I had known before I would have postponed my trip having driven 300 mile round trip. The river near Ross has decent water to fish .

My first blank on the Wye and I can go back to 1969.
A special mention to the 2 people who got in below me, late in the afternoon, so close that they chopped off the end of my swim. If you read this. Thanks folks! Great manners!

We fished the faster deeper water from late afternoon until dusk, weather had been windy and showery but changed to sunshine in the evening. I had x5 Barbel ranging from 6.8lb to 8.8lb. Main tactics were pellet on the feeder and had one fish trotting meat in another swim. Definitely more fish to be had if roving and putting the effort in. Great session though and would return to this beat.

Unfortunately no catches. I fished with my son using cage feeder. Was an extremely windy day so we didn’t fish past midday. Our first time on the Wye. River quite low. And quite fast running I thought. Great location and great parking facilities. And great cafe across the rd. Booking was easy and information very helpful. Maybe worth mentioning it is an averagely steep walk down to fishing spots. Very much enjoyed.

Very slow day, lost several fish but caught 2 beautiful chub to approximately 4lb. The river was very low and out of sorts, but a lovely beat nonetheless.
