Obviously the river is running very low and clear so would be hard work for an experienced river angler which I'm not! Good day out though, can't wait to come back after a bit of rain ☔ ????

Another hot and sunny day with low water level. Tried to find some deeper water. Most fish came towards the end of the session at dusk, a frantic last hour!

After two difficult days on the Wye we finally found some fish.
This beat was very difficult, water very low and clear and zero flow but we found a lovely stretch in the top wood with a small gravel beach where there was a decent amount of flow running down a gully on the far bank.

2 barbel of around 6-7lbs and 3 nice size chub between us.

Purchased a evening ticket ,thinking the canoe traffic may have slowed by then , first mistake haha, canoe mored up on first swim over bridge !! picnic-ers in second swim , so while waiting for these people to move on ,fed sweet corn off bridge and watched odd small Chub take offering's tentatively ?
waded in under bridge and on 3rd trot connected with a small Chub , waded down further to no avail. The bank signage clearly says no public access !!! but two families with dogs and kids obviously did not see them and began to enter my peg and , after making them aware of my interpretation of the signs decided to leave , as it was obvious I was on a "no win " situation , receiving comments ranging from "we know the farmer"....we have been doing this for two years ...stupid place to fish ,by a foot bridge etc etc expensive evening for 20mins fishing , did look at last swim road side but this was being fished by another angler !!! water ridiculously warm so maybe I made a wise decision leaving , but the access to a paying fishing permit needs addressing ,because the current signage does not deter everyone ........

First time here , wonderful scenery driving through the Courtfield estate, lots of water to cover, I spent an hour just walking the beat scoping it out, The fishing was steady throughout the evening fished from 4pm to 10 great day , can't wait to come back
