River was very low, a lot of weed showing. Managed to winkle out a small barbel in the shallow water half way down the beat.

A slow start tried three different swims. A couple of little taps but nothing. Rested and pre baited in the afternoon as I was the only person fishing. Started fishing again at 5pm then the rain came by 6 pm it was heavy and then turned into a monsoon. It wasn't a wash out it was a rain out. Couldn't fish the evening session which I really thought would be the prime time. Sat in my car until 7pm and then drove home in the flooded streets and torrential downpour.
Friday the 13th strikes again.

The last day of our 5 day holiday was cut short by a heavy thunderstorm bringing some much welcome rain but making the banks very slippery. Good job we'd both had the foresight to take the rope and spike with us because of the forecast rain. Best barbel was an upper 8 (estimated) with a couple of nice chub of around about 4lb. All were caught using a feeder.

Obviously tough fishing in current conditions, on a generally shallow beat. A few fish caught by looking for slightly deeper runs and depressions in river bed. Heavy downpour late afternoon just what the river needed, hoping for a few more...
