Hot and sunny all day. River very low. All fish were taken in the evening and in good condition although the numbers of lice seemed higher than normal. Very enjoyable day.

Considering how low the river was and how bright and hot it was we had a fabulous day with barbel to 8lbs and chub to 4lb.
All caught on ledgered pellet or boilies

Second of two days. Trotted for a couple of hours in the morning but gave up when canoe traffic increased. Returned to beat late afternoon to continue fishing but rather busy with canoeists and swimmers. Some individuals particularly ignorant and showed no consideration to myself trying to fish. The canoe hire companies must increase the awareness of the angling which takes place and educate the individuals that hire the canoes. Numerous canoeist asked to leave the bank of the fishery and swimmers asked not to swim in fishing areas. Managed to fish for a couple of undisturbed hours late afternoon and caught on pellets and boilies using feeder. Unfortunately session cut short by ignorant evening swimmers/canoeists. Still a very nice and productive stretch of beautiful river just need to be aware of the best times to take advantage.

Most fish of the fish fell to double hair-rigged sweet corn (even the eel!)

Water was low and it was impossible to get into the water from the banks. If you want to actually get in the water to trot baits in the shallow part of the stretch this is not possible.

It’s also very difficult to safely return Barbel to the water given the steep banks, you have to rest them in the landing net and try to keep them in the flow which as we all know is quite difficult.

That said - this is a beautiful river and we thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and scenery. Weather was hot but we still caught Barbel during the day, we found the fast water on the inside in the upper reaches of the beat.

A tough, very hot day, on a low, clear, river. What didn't help either was the vast amount of weed coming down stream around 6.00pm which made it un-fishable during the 'witching hour'. I am pretty sure someone was cutting the weed further upstream, it was far too much for the Swans to be uprooting! However, the scenery, Blue Damsels and birdlife were superb and personally, I think we had quite a good day.

Did not fish. The only accessible spots were either choked with weed or not flowing, due to the prolonged low water. Walked the whole beat, twice, but having neither a machete nor climbing equipment, and it being the hottest day of the year, I didn't even put a rod up.

Won't be rushing back to this one.

Clear and very hot. River low and clear, not ideal. Canoists were a disgrace had a party of 10 idiots decide to jump in directly in front. Pegs not as defined as led to believe on website.
Fish caught between 10am and 3pm. No bites at all 3pm till 8pm. Fishing pellet and cage feeder with pva bag of pellet each cast. 3 chub with one at 5.5lb. A PB for me on the Wye. One double figure barbel lost at net. A plus point were the number of salmon jumping were half a dozen 20lb+ fish were seen. Overall dissapointing day spoilt by weather and canoists behaviour.
