Fishing the fast running lower stretch firstly with bolo float to far side glide and hooked first barbell early on. Weighed 5lb. Then changed to ground bait feeder on same line and caught barbell to 8lb later on in session. An enjoyable day

The river looked good but the fish didn't respond although a few were lost in the snags, access at the entrance with a standard vehicle is a problem and I scraped the bottom of my car both getting in and out, for this reason we will not be returning which is a shame.

This was a damp old day. The Barbel were out to play right from the start. All 11 caught on pellet 10or 14mm,
the biggest was 8lb 4 oz.
Didn't get a bite after 1.00 pm, so headed home 3pm. Another great weekend on the Wye.
The new steps were very useful for an "old man"

Really tough day, the river was high, coloured and bombing through which made fishing this beat particularly hard. We had about 100 swimmers pass through and very heavy canoe traffic which didn't help and also there's a portage point on this stretch, so we had lot's of people entering and exiting the river next to where we were fishing! But we still caught a few.
