Had a Barbel within the first hour. thought this is a good start, well that was the only bite the two of us had all day. Disappointing to say the least.Barbel were spotted by the boys rock (which we can't fish). Use to be able to fish this in the past and the peg slightly below the boys rock. I have to say this is a beat i will not be visiting again.

Fished from mid afternoon in the last swim in the meadow. We heavily baited the area before fishing. A warm afternoon then became a slightly chilly evening with clear skies so bites were few and far between. Feeder tactics provided one small barbel and then chub of 3lb and 5lb to T Everitt and chub of 4lb to A. Davis
This swim did not live up to expectation but enjoyed the day.

Tough day, fished the upper end of the beat in several swims but couldn't locate the fish. Spoke to the gille and he said he had spotted an otter there two days beforehand so probably didn't help.
1 Barbel caught on pellet.
I have read some reports about swims and there not being many. I can say there are 4-5 well cut out swims in the upper section, the middle section has a couple of good swims but the bottom section there are none.
A very nice beat

Having spent two sessions broiling on the preceding two days elsewhere and with only one half pound Barbel to show for my efforts I was really looking forward to today. I followed the advice of an earlier visitor and given the very low and clear conditions headed for the bottom of the beat where the river channels into a fast flowing bend before meeting the River Lugg. The action was slow but steady and I ended up with 5 Barbel - the best just shy of 9lb and 5 Chub averaging 2lb. Very challenging but rewarding session in a very, very snaggy swim. O lost four Barbel - I suspect there are some very sharp rocks as the hooklength came back sheared straight through. Midway through the morning I was enjoying the lack of traffic noise - seems to be an inescapable feature of many spots in the Wye Valley - when the farmer came and started up his generator in the field opposite. If visiting best pack some earplugs and make sure you carry your rod license - I had a visit from a pair of EA Bailiffs who were very friendly once they had checked my licenses. We had a good chat and they took my picture for their Twitter feed! Finally praise for the pristine condition of the fishery - the banks were immaculate. Whoever does this deserves a pat on the back.
