Very cold start and the water level a lot lower than last week. I fished a couple of swims along legg meadow. After a quiet day, I eventually managed to get a 7lb 7oz Barbel at around 5:30PM and then another of 10lb 1oz (wye pb) at 6:30PM, both caught on tuna boilies and Halibut pellets

2 Barbel

Very poor day on the river, no Chub, no Barbel, not a touch all day, friends fishing below Hereford experienced the same, maybe the cold snap & low water has put the fish off for a while, next time!!!

Fished on the bottom with different baits, tried halibut pellets, sweetcorn, luncheon meat. Caught nothing. It was a bright clear day, river was low. Enjoyed the scenery.I will come back when it gets warmer. The only thing I didn't like was going on the website finding it cost £20 a day, which was fine. Only to find a £2.50 booking fee!. I would rather them say it cost £22.50 at the start.
(WUF note: the booking fee covers any number of bookings if made on the same day, and also covers the cost of credit cards and staff)

Anyone else ever caught a 12lb Salmon on stick float and bread? Frightened the life out of me when it leaped clear of the water when I hooked it ???? Lovely days fishing, barbel on pellet, chub on bread/stick and a couple on pellet.
