River low and clear, settled into two swims near the car park, I quickly moved after snagging up a few times and finished with 3 chub, got desperate at the end and had the last 2 on bread, couldn't buy a bite on all different pellet or meat, CH had 4 barbel and lost 4 in a snag plus quite a few feeders, biggest weighed in at 9.1lb, basically he battered me, next stop Foy tomorrow.

Great day on the river once more. A steady day with fish being caught at regular intervals. Some welcome rain should help the flow.

The day dawned bright and sunny which did not fill us with confidence. We started in the field opposite the church and roved the entire stretch returning to the church field in the early evening.
My brother struggled for bites throughout the day which was odd as we both fished the usual methods. He ended the day with 1 barbel and 1 chub, with the remainder falling to my rod.
N.B. Canoes were a major disruption throughout the afternoon, with large numbers beaching on the gravel banks below the shallow water and stopping for lunch with many taking to swmimming the glide stretch below the shallows...needless to say we moved to the lower stretch as fishing during this period was not viable..!

lots of fish cruising below the surface and stirring up the bottom too..fished pellet and corn and had a 15lb common far end by the oak tree then couple in the margins 8lbs each and 3 more mirrors 5/6 pounders by the gate entrance, beautiful surroundings saw kingfisher, deer and had the friendly cows for company. All fish in perfect condition and hard fighting. Lovely day, will be back.

River low and clear, with the sun shining brightly for much of the day, so not ideal conditions. Steve tackled two swims in the woods around the Lucky Stone for 2 barbel to 8lb 6oz and c.10 chub to just under 4lb. He later fished the 1st croy (Lea Brink?) for 3 more barbel to 6-08 and another chub. Meanwhile, having tried elsewhere without success, I fished a nice run along the near bank just above the fishing hut (Froth Hole?) for 6 barbel to 7lb 5oz and a chub. Steve caught his biggest barbel (and I think some other fish) on luncheon meat, with the rest on pellet. I caught all mine on pellet feeder. The walk over the hill is tough (travel light) and expect to be sky-lined by walkers and dog owners along the upstream section. Otherwise, a great fishery.

A very hot day with river low and floating weed present very difficult to fish. Signs of otter activity. Very few bites with 2 small chub at dusk, very disappointing day.
The access to the field from the road is extremely dangerous and is not possible to exit unless you have someone with you. You could easily damage the bottom of your car on the concrete lip.

Highly enjoyable day on this beat.Conditions were tricky with the river very low and clear. I spent the bulk of my session on a swim half way down on the left bank. After some experimentation I had to scale down to get bites and caught most of my fish on banded 6mm pellet fished on a short hook-length and groundbait feeder. Lovely to see a couple of sub 1lb Barbel in my catch, very promising for the future.
For future reference I lost some rigs to a couple of snags, one straight across about 2/3rds of the way and another about 30yd down stream and about 1/2 way over.
