Water was clear and shallow. We used halibut pellet to catch all fish. It was the first time either of us had fished the Wye. The Barbel were between 3 and 6.5lb. The Chub were between 0.5 and 4.5lb.

Lovely beat although you are only able to fish two of the three fields on the beat. For the fee paid I would have liked the option to fish in the first field.

My favourite beat on the WUF. Although we as had a very productive day on the bank as with other beats we visited on our trip, access to parts of the beat were unmaintained, thus unfishable. For the fee that anglers pay the upkeep of the beat should be paramount to make anglers want to return again.

Water low.....even with rain over night did not rise more than 4 or 5 inches.Still have caught here before at low water. N.B. When fishing the water between Upper and Lower Cannon had a chair stolen that had been tucked away out of site of the water, while I went for lunch between my morning and evening sessions. In talking to Mr Richards the farmer he tells me he has had 2 quad bikes stolen and a strimmer.
I mention this as its such a quiet, tucked out of the way place you think that your stuff will be safe, apparently not.

River far too low despite previous day's rain. Fished until dinner time then gave up. No fish caught.
