A good evening session with the river lower than previously but still with colour, and the weather calm, cloudy and showery. Fish caught throughout on pellet and meat. Largest barbel about 6.5 lbs. Observed that several swims on the lower, faster water are now inaccessible following winter floods.

River had dropped and cleared making fishing a little more difficult. I had 3 barbel and 5 chub, David had 7 barbel and 17 chub.
Our last day on this stretch, thanks to bailiff Colin for preparing the swims.

First visit to the Wye didn't dissapoint, once we settled in the bottom pool (listen to peoples advice) we caught steadily all day, the weather didn't seem to affect the fishing to much with the temperature about 25 degrees and sunny, boat traffic was quite light and most were respectful. All fish caught on pellets and feeders - take loads we got through 10 between us. Best advice - just enjoy it.

Another roasting day fished feeder and pellet on a fining down river had 4 eels on pellet hook bait. Had to work all day and many swims to keep steady action but most had in the morning. Plenty of anglers on the far bank but no problems at all. Another great day on the wye , thanks wuf.

I think the parking at this venue is a bit dodgy, the main road is very busy perhaps opposite the water board gates would be better if permission was sorted. Fished end of first field usual method pellet +feeder 2 barbel 4lb and 8lb very hot day so glad to get 2 fish, canoes were very good kept to opposite side of river.

Enjoyable session taking 6 barbel and 15 chub from below woods at the beat limit. With a decent flow still on I was surprised how stacked up the fish were in this area

The river was clearing and also dropping throughout the day, the walk down the track was challenging, however not as much as the return journey up hill, travel light for this venue. All fish caught on feeder and pellets, largest Barbel was 7lb, largest chub was 4lb, thank you WUF for having this beat available.

Another tough day on a coloured and out-of-sorts river. Normally reliable swims in the top meadow and the woods failed to produce in the bright sunshine and 30-degree temperatures, and we cut our losses early without even a sniff of a barbel. Very unusual for this fishery!
Owner Note : In exceptional hot and sunny weather, barbel feed late when the sun starts to go down, as regular angler J.A. demonstrated the 18th.

3 Chub
