First time on this beat and what a wonderful place it is. We walked the stretch to begin with and chose a couple of areas although there was plenty more to tempt you.
We had four barbel from the first place before moving mid afternoon and taking another fourteen barbel with plenty of bonus chub. Groundbait feeder and 10mm pellets scored best today.
Wildlife included more mandarin chicks, sand martins sat in their nests, a stalking heron and of course the ever present buzzard. No kingfisher today, must have been its day off!

River up slightly, fish caught on pellet wagler and feeder. Be warned this is a very snaggy stretch lots of feeders lost on snags. This is a very good stretch with good access but is very expensive tackle wise.

River dropping but still very high, but becoming clearer. All fish caught on luncheon meat. Met bailiff at river, he was very helpful. This has become my regular second day venue after a stop over. A good stretch.

All caught on standard feeder & pellet tactics from beat 2 & 4. Vans got licked to death by the cattle when parking just inside field at best 2, only a couple of small scratches but wouldn't park there again. Nice looking stretch of the Wye.
