River coloured and flowing, looked good. Nice stretch, easy walk from the car. Fish caught throughout the day, mostly from the faster section close in under the trees on feeders and pellets. Upstream section quite overgrown, steep banks along section but plenty of swims.
Only downside of the day was that I fell down the bank and dislocated my shoulder, ending up in Hereford A&E! No fault apart from my own.

Another great day on this scenic beat. Fished from morning till dark. Had all the chub on the float and one barbel around 4lb. Switched to the feeder later on and had another 7 barbel to 8lb 4oz, all in great condition and fighting well in the slightly heavier flow than usual. Water still very peat coloured from up-river. Snaggy beat at the moment, but didn't loose any feeders after figuring out where the snags were and how to dislodge the feeders when they did get caught up. A great day all round.

River still up a little with some colour. We expected a very good day but the barbel didn't want to play. We managed 3 barbel and 9 chub mostly on pellets.

Travelled light so walk not too bad and settled in to one of the swims in the wood. Started fishing late morning and fish feeding from the start. Loads of bites and missed fish including a carp which was lost at the net. Action stopped abruptly around tea time and that was it. Fish caught on pellet and meat .

I was surprised to see the river so high at this time of year and quite coloured. Decided to float fish for first half of the day catching several chub. Then in afternoon when canoes slowed down cast feeder out a few times to feed the swim then rested for 30 mins before casting out. Had a steady run of chub and barbel just into dark up to just over 7lbs and chub to just over 4 pounds. Wonderful place to fish in such beatific surroundings still good value at 25 pounds a day, I will be back.

First time on How Caple Court. We were impressed with the beat and the swims, well maintained and plenty to choose from.
We walked the entire beat and started in the first ones either side of the tree line access. 1 chub first cast in one and nothing in the other so we moved. I went downstream a couple of pegs and MP went upstream. I had one barbel one hour later and MP dropped on a couple of barbel. MP kicked my butt finishing with 10 chub to 3lb and 5 Barbel to 8lb 15oz. KB finished with a poor 2 Barbel and 4 Chub. Lovely beat with good swims. Good to be back on the river again????.

The day was dry warm and overcast and the river was still carrying a lot of colour when we arrived, the prospects were good. Cardiac hill gets no easier in our advancing years but it's a necessary evil to get downstream, and walking through someone's back garden just gets weirder every time... We decided to take on the woods as the river looked so inviting there, the chosen swim was only big enough for one rod but that was fine (there's an element of mountain goat needed so caution is advised on these swims.) Boating traffic was minimal and all were courteous and kept out of the way, to be honest if you're fishing from the woods they don't usually see you until the last moment.
Fishing feeders with pellet or boilie hook baits we finished the day with 13 fish, 12 good sized chub including a five pounder you could have put a saddle on and a beautiful eight and a half pound barbel as last fish of the day. We would have carried on but the Wye lived up to its reputation as a tackle killer, the sharp rocks and snags eventually robbing us of every feeder we owned..
A real red letter day for us, thanks again Wye and Usk, we'll be back as soon as we've restocked with feeders.

The river had dropped a little but was still a foot or so up and coloured. This is one of our favourite stretches of the Wye and it seems to produce more than its fair share of big barbel. This proved to be the case today with the best barbel of 7 being 10lb 7oz. All the fish came from the slower water at the top of the length .

We started early getting to the River for 5 in the morning. River conditions were coloured with a little bit of extra flow. This is a beautiful spot to fish with the weir gardens opposite it only took the first 15 minutes to get the first chub on the bank the bites then came steadily throughout the day with the bulk of the action coming in the early morning. We caught a few clonking chub to over 6lb but the average was 4 lb biggest barbel was 8 lbs that gave me the fight of my life. This was our first time on the Wye and we will definitely be returning and recommending to others.
