Very slow day, with only one baby chub caught. Fished both ends of the stretch. The slowest day I have experienced on the Wye in six years. The main theories for the slow fishing are either the fish being turned off by the flood water / waiting to spawn or not being there to catch. I do not know the answer at this stage, but will persevere.

First time at this stretch. Water quiet high and coloured. The flow was pushing hard. Cloudy weather. Not a great start of the season for me but it was a privilege to be there. A very enjoyable day fishing on a peaceful part of the Wye.

Was hoping to have a go at the many chub and barbel with the trotting rod after a quick swing of the fly-rod but alas the river was too high and coloured for both; rugby was good though!

river was running a bit and coloured.
First ever Barbel for Alan around 8.30 and a second within an hour to just short of 9 Lbs so he was very pleased with that as was I for him. Missed bites and lost fish followed. iddle part of day was quiet. oth had more bites and lost fish before a late fish each to my relief to round off another good day on the Wye. All fish to pellet and feeders in the slacks, a misplaced cast helped us on our way. Faster water was unproductive.

River was high but weather was good. We fished at the top end of the section as most of the other swims were unfishable.
5 barbel and a small chub caught between us although all were caught from the last swim on the stretch.

The river was higher than summer levels after rain and fining down over the whole weekend. Very little weed in the river. Conditions looked good, but the fish were not playing ball. We tried several swims along the whole stretch from the deeper water at the top to the shallows below the footbridge with just one small and solitary chub to show for it. Very disappointing.

Tough day river level ok but fast flowing and dirty. 4lb 6oz barbel and 6 chub to about 3lb all on feeder tactics, most bites come during evening period. Pleased with access to river, plenty of well strimmed swims.

Nothing caught - river was running high and was coloured with lots of debris.
