After a eventful drive we finally found the beat. The beat is stunning but due to the rain walking to and getting down to the swims was difficult. If I return in the future I will make sure I have some rope to help myself out. Started fishing down at the boat pool but had nothing except losing the top of my rod into the river, if anyone lands it I would be grateful for its return. I later moved to the meadow where during a spell of brilliant sunshine I took 2 barbel 5.10 and a couple of chub just under 4 . Later in the day had a stunning fish of 9.8 which completed a wonderful day. Fish come on pellet and feeder rig. Fished into dark but had no more fish. If parking half way down the beat be careful because the cars on the road were really motoring and get close to where you park.

A more successful day that the previous one (Courtfield), despite the rain from the previous day, the river had not really risen & was still running clear with a lot of weed coming through. After the previous day's rain a second mild (even muggy) day with overcast skies & intermittent (sometimes heavy) showers may have been the reason we were able to find them feeding & for longer periods.
I Caught within the first hour of arriving and then managed one every few hours for a total of five with a couple of hours to go. As can often be the case, the last hour or so then became hectic, with the two of us now fishing the same swim we took a further 9, even having one on at the same time at one stage. All the fish were in excellent condition & faught strongly, the majority were between 5 - 7lbs taken mid river on pellet or boilie over the feeder or PVA bags. A soggy, humid, muddy & enjoyable day in a swim that resembled somewhere on the "Somme" by the time darkness fell & we packed away.

First time fishing this beat so we were not quite sure what to expect. The conditions were windy and overcast. We made for the end of the beat but my companion fished about 3/4's of the way down while I went on further. A long walk and not for the faint hearted. Travel light. We both caught fish immediately on feeder tactics and the fish fed all day with just a quiet spell here and there. The Barbel ranged from 2lbs up to the 2 best fish of just over 9lb's. Most of the Chub were between 3 and 5 pounds with the best one 5 pounds 2 ounces.
A brilliant days fishing in a beautiful place. I would have loved to have fished with the Stick and Pin but needed to wade and my chest waders had sprung a leak.
Will definitely be back.

Wonderful beat with salmon moving throughout. The whole river system was low however we started to get bites at dusk with 1 rod catching a brace of barbel over 8lbs. Great day!

1 angler caught a 7lb 12oz barbel on luncheon meat fished half way across the river. The 2nd angler was smashed up on the first take, went onto catch 4 eels, best around 3.5lbs and a barbel of 4.5lbs. All these fish feel to luncheon meat fished 2/3 across the river. The other anglers had 20 chub between them as well as about 6 small dace. All the chub ranged between 2 to 4 ozs fished on trotted maggot. Nothing was caught on the swim feeder.
The weather was breezy and upstream which helped long trotting. The water was low and clear.
The fishery itself was OK but we were confined to the last swims on the furthest upstream boundary. The other swims had steps down step banks but these were very muddy and it would have been dangerous to have attempted to go down and wade.

I don't know what went wrong but it was a very quiet day on Wyebank. Nothing at all until 4.30 when I had a bite and ultimately lost it through my own incompetence. In total 3 takes but no fish to show for it. The river was very low, and the weather was raining and overcast for the day. Tried a whole host of methods ranging from feeder to PVA bags bookies to pellet. Still a bad day on the Wye beats a week of good days in the office.
