Sorry to say this is the last time I will be visiting this venue. Too expensive to share your swim with half the population of Birmingham. They descend from the Black Country and line the far bank like an ivading Army. This is not what I come to the Wye for. Not a single bite.

Unfortunately we arrived too late in the day to fish this beat. However I did take a look - and there's plenty of water to fish - and from mainly grassed banks... Although it did look snaggy in some of the more likely swims!
I would call it more than a short walk down to the river though. And quite a long way further if you want to fish at the far end of the beat... That's why I decided against it at 4:30 in the afternoon.

River was low and clear and a very bright sunny day made fishing difficult. Both fish caught on pellets.

As other posts have stated the far bank is lined with angers from Birmingham AA and while we understand WUF cannot guarantee exclusivity it does get frustrating having paid double the going rate to find a large proportion of the opposite bank full, even midweek.
A man walking his dog told us that the landowner of the opposite bank was not too happy with the opposite bank being very busy with some anglers fishing into darkness.
Moan over.
Similar weather to the previous 2 days did not help the fishing and the 3 of us struggled aside from the 4 fish in total we caught. Picturesque the venue maybe but the change of use of the far bank will ensure we will not be booking this length again.

Weather was bright and sunny all day with river running clear and quite slow so adopted the trotting and light feeder tactics. No surface weed or debris although there is light subsurface weed running through but it didn't detract. Looking towards the Island Pool where the river widens it looked really impressive, it will stop you in your tracks, and a fantastic area to fish. Unfortunately not a lot of swim access to that part so we fished the Mill Pool and towards the Pump Pool area as the swims were well set out.
Didn't have time to fish the upper stretch as only there two days. This beat really does leave you spoilt for choice and does cater for the wandering approach. Biggest barbel to 8lbs and nice perch to 1 1/2lb. All fish caught on maggot. Awesome venue which has left a lasting impression. Plenty of buzzard action and even what looked like a mink . Thanks WUF.

Water level low, cold overnight, misty morning which gave way to bright sunshine-not ideal fishing conditions! Nevertheless, a very enjoyable day in beautiful surroundings with 1 barbel of just under 1lb and 4 between 5.12 and 7.8 landed (on pellet-all in great condition) and one lost when the hook pulled out. Around 20 dace on float.

Dawn start with cold overnight temps down to 2c driving to the venue this morning. Cold, clear skies and bright sunshine. Groundbait and pellet feeders to start and first drop I had the rod tip bending round after 10minutes. A strong fight with no quarter given had a fantastic condition chub taking the scales round to 4lb 15oz. The barbel caught yesterday was returned unweighed but looked around 4lb. Not bites for the rest of the morning when we left at 12.

Fantastic day all round. Caught fish steadily all day, fishing feeder tactics with luncheon meat and boilies. All the fish were in perfect condition and returned safely, with the chub averaging 2-3lb and the barbel around the 5lb mark.
The river was running at a normal level I believe and had a bit of colour to it. A fresh, chilly start but bright sun nearly all day with cloudy intervals before finally packed up as the sun set. We met the bailiff as we left, who took the time to ask how we got on and had chat, top bloke. Great stretch of the Wye. Can't wait to get booked up again.

First trip to this beat and I was very impressed by the amount of water and accessibility of the swims. Unfortunately the conditions for this trip were far from ideal with a very cold dawn and then bright sunshine all day. We fished a number of swims in leg meadow with only a minnow to show for our efforts.
As the day drew on we gambled on what I hoped would be some faster water in the last swim of boat pool. We managed 5 Barbel and 5 Chub between us on pellet feeder tactics and lost one larger fish. Barbel between 6-8 Lb Chub up to 3Lb.
As an aside a big thank you to the other angler on the beat who having fished Courtfield before was very happy to offer advice and a few bolies too.
