I caught 2no Perch approx l.1b in size. We also found a chap fishing one day with a spinning rod and asked him for his permit to fish this water. He could not so we told him to leave as this was private beat for us to fish under Wye & Usk Foundation.
We found the fishery fantastic place to fish. The water level was a bit low but the barbel were in deeper water. Not a lot of swims to choose from. Lots of salmon jumping 10.1b/15.1b in size.

Had a red letter day on this stretch. Started at the upper reaches and fished back to the access path. The upper field is full of swan and goose poo so care needs to be taken if attempting to fish here its disgusting. Barbel caught weighed from 4lb up to 9lb 14oz and all fought like demons. The floating weed was a problem from about 10am till 6pm but stepping up the gear ensured that the rigs stayed in place. The chub weighed between 1lb and 5lb 5oz. Cracking day on a lovely beat and my father had his PB barbel at 9lb 6oz so he was well happy!!! Thank you WUF we will be back...!

Arrived at half three to fish the evening after the majority of canoes had been through. Fished pellet with feeder and had 9 barbel, they were all tiny maybe only a few ounces each and about 5 inches in length. Slightly frustrating they were not bigger but on the plus side looking good for the future. Nice evening in the sun in beautiful surroundings, hopefully back in a couple of weeks.
Thanks WUF.

A lovely stretch of water. Only 5 barbel caught, all on pellet and feeder. Fished 2 swims from around 7am to 3pm. On a better day I'm sure we would have caught more. Note that as others have said, it is quite a long walk from the parking.

Stunning day. So quiet we could hear the beat of the wings of the crows flying 100 metres away. Chap came along doing a bit of falconry. We had two wild carp, one 39cm long, the other 43cm long (which my son caught), both on sweetcorn. The larger one just on a float and the smaller using a surface float arrangement. Dead calm water, at some points it was so flat that ripples gave interference and Moire patterns.

Lovely section of river with fantastic access to the water. My son Sam and I enjoyed a fabulous day stood in the river trotting for chub with corn. We took it in turns to gillie for each other and even managed a nap on the bank. Will definitely be back to this beat, well worth the money.

This is one of the nicest beats the Wye & usk have on their books, unfortunately we arrived to find swims defiled by previous anglers litter; sweet corn tins, groundbait bags, drink containers and even open tins still full of luncheon meat! I had filled a carrier bag with rubbish before I even thought about fishing, if I was the land owner and found this it would be the end of the fishing......rant over.
WUF Note: Our sincere thanks to SM of Northants for clearing up the litter left by previous anglers. He is quite right in saying that we risk losing fisheries if anglers do not take litter away with them. Please remember that leaving litter is a breach of booking conditions and could result in the culprit(s) being prevented from making bookings on Passport beats in the future.

Cracking stretch of river, albeit a good trek from the parking area. Fishing was slow to begin with, not surprising given the bright, sunny conditions. We tried a variety of swims along the beat, mostly in the middle / upper reaches. I took all 4 barbel from one swim, the 5th that I tried, and also lost 2 more from the same peg. My colleague lost 1 barbel but otherwise no action from the other swims fished. The successful swim had a bit more depth than the others and didn't have so much far bank activity (the National Trust property on the far bank was very busy).
