The bottom pool failed to produce so we moved to the top end of the beat. George quickly found barbel and ended the day with 6 up to 5lbs, I blanked but I had the privilege of a fast take from a salmon I was unprepared for and lost.

Another pleasant afternoon on the Wye. Water up about a foot with a tinge of colour. Started about midday, had 3 fish within 40 minutes then nothing for 4 1/2 hours.
Stayed put and kept feeding and eventually the barbel returned with a further 14 fish. They averaged 6-7lb with a few smaller ones, and the biggest fish approx 9lbs and 33" long.
As with all Wye fish they went like stink but using the usual heavier tackle to get them in as quickly as possible meant they were still lively when unhooked and went back well. Caught 2 with other anglers' barbed hooks still attached which were removed.

Travelled down from Yorkshire today so didn't get fishing until gone 6pm. Walked the stretch and settled near the private fishing stretch. Fished pellet and bomb about halfway across catapulting in freebies.
Caught steadily all evening. The first fish turned out to be the biggest of the weekend at 9lb 5oz. A lovely stretch especially once the road had quietened down later on.

Weather was hot and sunny not good for fishing. Used feeder and pellet all day and we had 3 barbel and 6 chub. The river had good colour and good flow, with Terry's feedback
on where to fish, myself and my son had a very good day. Thank you, we will be back.
