5 barbel caught, all on 14mm halibut pellet over 'time bomb' feeder. All over 7lb 8oz with best at 9lb 10oz. Lost another two, line cut on rock and hook pull. River low with little colour, bright early but overcast later, caught throughout day.

Fished this beat for the first time. River was a lot slower and deeper than the previous beat, the weather was overcast and a light shower. I was not sure what to expect and I can now see why you can only fish with one rod. Again, large open feeder with a long leader, no.10 barbless hook. My choice of bait was ground bait with pellet casters, spicy hemp and crushed boilies in the feeder and small boilie on the hair. Then the heart-stopping experience started with 3 big barbel well into double figures and I was absolutely shattered. These fish fight like steam trains when hooked. This has been one of my greatest fishing experience days, many thanks to the owners and WUF for this great fishery.

Another disappointing day on this beat. River looked great and we had high expectations. 1 Barbel was the only result, though 3 other fish were lost. Activity very localised with one swim producing the little action there was. Fishing here does seem to have tailed off noticeably since season start.
New swims being cut on opposite side of river, hope this does not lead to confrontation as the better water at the lower end of beat is on near side.

Sunny day - river clear and slow running. Fished first to last light, mainly pellet though did also try sweetcorn, meat etc.
One barbel, 8lbs and one chub 4lbs - fish were having a quiet day, didn't really mind as weather was great. The two I did catch were both handsome fish and there was plenty of wildlife going on to keep me occupied.
Will definitely return.

Having fished the previous day I was expecting to find fishing easier. River condition was still low and clear but the sun was shining. Caught 6 Chub between 2lb – 4.5lb and 1 Barbel 7lb 6oz on meat and Pellet.
All fish came between 3pm and 6:30pm. After this the river seemed to change slightly with some debris coming through - Perhaps a weir was opened up stream?

Lovely day, began around the fishing hut and latterly moved downstream. Three chub to 5 pounds at the hut and then 2 barbel to 7 pounds plus another 7 chub to 4 pounds downstream, all on pellet using mixed pellets and hemp in the feeder. Trotting with a float produced nothing. Activity was sporadic, fish came in bursts followed by long periods of no bites at all. Lovely stretch of river also enjoyed by 9 swans, 6 ducks and the odd flotilla of canoes!

River was low and clear so fishing wasn't easy! Fished the wooded area with the feeder but could only get knocks from small chub. A change to meat on light leads led to a change in results though as we both caught barbel of over 9lbs and also some lovely chub averaging about 4lb a piece. A difficult start but ended up being a great days fishing.

Starting in the woods at 6am the river looked promising and had a slight tinge of colour and good flow. Within ten minutes I had my first bite resulting in a barbel about 5lb. This was however, to be the only bite for several hours after and prompted a move to Legg Meadow. A few tentative chub bites and one large eel were the only results until packing up at 8pm. A very disappointing day. Canoe traffic was very heavy and although most were considerate, the continuous noise and disturbance was tiresome.
